Ruairi White appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of NSUN

Ruairi White has stepped into the role of Interim CEO following the departure of Mandy Crandale. The interim appointment is scheduled to last for six months.

Ruairi has been with NSUN since 2020, and previously led on NSUN’s capacity-building function as well as serving as Deputy CEO since 2025.

Ruairi said:

“NSUN’s work couldn’t be more important right now, when people with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress and trauma face hostility from a government keen to slash benefits and blame ‘overdiagnosis’ instead of dealing with the mental health impacts of poverty, inequality and global crises. I’m honoured by this appointment and excited to continue working with my colleagues, the Board and members to make change.”

NSUN’s Chair, Alisdair Cameron, said:

“The board is delighted to confirm the appointment of Ruairi White as Interim CEO; he knows the organisation inside-out, has a proven track record and provides continuity as NSUN navigates the rapidly-changing mental health landscape and the turbulent political currents that have such impact upon people with lived experience of mental distress.”
