This event has been postponed. We will re-open registration once a new date is confirmed. If you’d like to register your interest in attending the rescheduled session, please email info@nsun.org.uk.
August’s Mad Campaigns Lab meeting is open to all NSUN members!
We’re delighted to be joined by Green and Black Cross who will run a Know Your Rights Training for NSUN members. This session is ideal for folks who want to know more about understanding their rights when it comes to protest.
The training will cover key messages, interacting with police and security, common offences used at protest and what to do if you are stop-and-searched or arrested.
Content note: although we won’t be mentioning anything in a graphic way, this training will involve mention of policing, state violence, racism, ableism, transphobia and transmisogyny, stop & search.
NSUN’s Conduct Agreement
We want virtual NSUN spaces to be safe, welcoming, and inclusive. Harassment, hate speech, and inappropriate behaviour of any kind, verbal or in the chat/Q&A, will not be tolerated.
We reserve the right to immediately remove any attendee we consider to be in breach of this conduct agreement. This includes anyone making racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory, offensive, or hateful remarks.
Removed participants will not be able to re-join the session, or, if applicable, join any of the rest of the sessions in a day or series of events. In order to avoid the derailing of sessions we will not enter into conversations around why conduct was deemed inappropriate in the sessions themselves.

About Mad Campaigns Lab
Mad Campaigns Lab is a monthly online meet-up for NSUN members (individuals with lived experience of mental ill-health, distress, and/or trauma, as well as grassroots, user-led mental health groups) interested in/working around mental health policy and campaigning. If you are not already an NSUN member, sign up for free here.
The emphasis of the space is on skill-sharing and training; helping members to campaign around issues related to mental healthcare, Mad liberation, and Disability justice. The space is free to join and open to all NSUN members, regardless of policy/campaigning experience. You might be an individual activist, an experienced campaigner, part of a group who would like to get involved in policy/campaigning, or someone who is interested in learning more about key issues in mental health policy. You might work around mental health specifically, or on wider structural change such as welfare reform, housing, data rights, migrant justice, or other human rights issues with mental health implications.
NSUN is a charity and membership organisation of people and grassroots groups with lived experience of mental ill-health, trauma and distress, working towards the redistribution of power and resource in mental health. You can find out more about us here.
