Azania McFarlane (she/her)

Azania (she/her) is NSUN’s Capacity Building Manager, supporting user-led groups to strengthen and sustain their work. She leads the Constellations Cohort, a programme that brings groups together for mutual learning and peer support.

She is based in Manchester and has spent over a decade in grassroots groups working on mental health, racial justice, arts and culture projects. With a background in fundraising and peer support, and qualifications in marketing and counselling, she now works to resource groups through grant-making and capacity building. She has a particular interest in developing collaborative, participatory approaches and wants to help create sustainable futures for user-led groups.

Outside of work, you’ll probably find Azania at a gig, a play, or down an obscure internet rabbit hole.

Azania works Monday to Thursday and can be contacted at azania.mcfarlane@nsun.org.uk.
