The “Peer Learning Community” (PLC) project is a working title for what will hopefully become a values-based network/membership organisation of peer supporters and user-led groups/organisations that provide peer support in England. The PLC will agree its own values and principles of peer support from within its network/community of peer supporters, with the view to acting as a collective advocate for the network/community. It can also be a facilitative organisation for the sharing of learning, resources and mutual support. The project will start with a comprehensive consultation to identify what a PLC might offer peer supporters, groups and peer-led organisations and what is needed or wanted by peer supporters across England. The PLC project is in its very early stages and seeking funding for its consultation process.
