Alison specialises in peer-led research. She has worked on the following projects:
- On Our Own Terms review, which led to establishing NSUN
- National Involvement Partnership – 4PI involvement standards
Dr Alison Faulkner is a survivor researcher and trainer in mental health with over 25 years’ experience of working in mental health research and consultancy. She has worked for most of the major mental health charities, including the Mental Health Foundation, the Centre for Mental Health, Mind, Rethink and Together for Mental Wellbeing. Alison has personal experience of using mental health services, including inpatient care, medication, psychotherapy and crisis services. Alison has supported NSUN’s work for over 10 years; this has included the development of the 4Pi National Involvement Standards, the London crisis care pathway research project, Women’s Mental Health focus groups and 4Pi training for Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and Rethink. Alison is currently leading NSUN’s peer support work. Alison also supports our networking and campaigning work and regularly presents at conferences and events on NSUN’s behalf.
