Emma joined NSUN in 2012 having previously worked with socially excluded adults in criminal justice and education settings. Her PhD (awarded in 2011) explored gender dynamics within group rehabilitation programmes run by the probation service. She has published journal articles and reports (under her previous surname, Perry) on gender, criminal justice, education and mental health. Emma has also worked with people experiencing homelessness as a drama tutor for Crisis Skylight Coventry and Warwickshire. She has supported members to gain Open College Network qualifications, perform accessible versions of theatre texts, and devise and perform their own work. Emma lives in Leamington Spa and can often be found in charity shops hunting for costumes.
