Being the Story is a an immersive storytelling day which gives a platform to extraordinary individuals with lived experiences who are creating change through their work.
Date: 19 October
Time: 10am-4pm
Venue: Conway Hall in London

Who is it for?
The Being the Story experience is for people working in or for the charity sector or socially-minded individuals who are interested in the power of storytelling and the impact it can have to challenge prejudice, reframe narratives, raise awareness, engage supporters and generate funds.
People attending will include: CEOs and senior management; communications, digital, campaign and marketing staff; funders, fundraisers, service users and expert citizens; frontline/outreach staff; staff working in CSR for corporate organisations, change-makers who want to develop the confidence to share their own personal story; and journalists.
How will it help you?
The organisers say you will leave the event with:
» an understanding of the power of storytelling
» ideas for how to tell your organisation's story differently, with more authenticity, to build trust and to encourage supporters to take action
» inspiration about how to gather stories and find new creative ways to share them
» confidence to share your own experiences, or support others to do so
» connections and potential future partnerships
» inspiration – you may be challenged by what you hear, perhaps feeling angry or moved, but you will be engaged and motivated.
