First Person Plural
First Person Plural is a small UK-wide registered charity led by abuse survivors with first hand experience of complex dissociative distress. We are a membership association open to dissociative survivors, their friends, family & professional allies and anyone with an interest in dissociation who wishes to support our work. Much of our work is achieved through a mutual support model which means that members support each other with self-help tips, information etc through the medium of the newsletter and attendance at occasional open members meetings. |

Users In Partnership UIP
We are an independent, friendly User Network established for over 12 years and now registered as a Community Interest Company and open to people with lived experience of mental distress and their allies. UIP was formed by a group of service users who wished to be heard. Their case was taken up by West Midlands Partnership in Mental Health. For a number of years the organisation was hosted by the National Institute for Mental Health in England and then the Mental Health arm of the Care Services Improvement Partnership. In 2006 the membership decided to become independent, and in 2007 the organisation became registered as a Community Interest Company. |

Support Association for Mental Health
We are a user led voluntary organisation, who have experience in Mental Health issues. We work closely with Dudley Mental Health Services and Dudley Council to signpost and advise in all of the different aspects of the Mental Health system. |

The Improving Mind group aims to do exactly what its name says. If Birmingham Mind has a new policy it is considering or new documents it wants service users to use, they come to Improving Mind to consult service users and make changes to them based on service users, ideas and experiences. |

Mental Health Service for South Asian Women
Mashriq Challenge Resource Centre was founded in November 2004. It is aUser Led Organisation (ULO) which means the service users are also board members.It was set up by a small group of people, who had been working in various roles within the community. MCRC is a Company Limited by Guarantee Non-Profit Organisation. The Organisation was formed in response to a chronic shortage of emotional well-being and care for women from the Asian and Ethnic minority communities and cultures. It has gone strength to strength and has a wide variety of services available. |

W.A.I.T.SWAITS is a women’s educational charity established in 1992. We are concerned with local women’s fuller involvement in the public life of their communities, from education to employment, personal to social and leadership to decision making. We support women to address issues such as welfare benefits, employment and education, domestic violence, isolation, health, crime and the fear of crime and many more. “Women with the power to make and influence decisions and make positive change” A Network of women’s groups, our membership reflects the diverse communities of Birmingham, Sandwell and other parts of the West Midlands. Worcestershire Association of Service Users
WASU is a registered charity run by a Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees are all volunteer service users from varying user groups. The Chief Executive provides support and advices the board of trustees who make all final decisions on the direction and strategy of the organisation. The Chief Executive is the sole paid employee, and is also the company secretary. Every year WASU holds an AGM to celebrate it’s achievements for the year and to agree the accounts. Elections take place so that new Trustees can join the board. All service user members are invited to the AGM and have the opportunity to vote. |

Unique People is a mental health support group based in West Bromwich providing a point of contact for those using mental health services in Sandwell. We work alongside a wide variety of groups including Sandwell PCT in improving mental health provisions in Sandwell, and sometimes further The group is led predominantly by those who are currently using or have used mental health services which gives us a unique insight and understanding into the way services are run in the area. |

The Network has over 300 members, made up of individuals who have an interest in mental health in the South Staffordshire area. Becoming a member is free and our members benefit from receiving our Network News magazine four times a year and being invited to our events and other consultation & involvement opportunities. |
