Launchpad
We are all (staff included) people who use mental health services in and around Newcastle upon Tyne, and we work to ensure that the voice of the service user is heard in all the decision-making bodies that affect mental health. LAUNCHPAD works to redress the balance, and offers the chance for anyone who uses mental health services in Newcastle to have their voice heard by the people who run these services. We endeavour to improve mental health services for all, and to promote the views and opinions of service users, all in a friendly , safe environment. |

B.E.C.O.NBECON (Black Minority Ethnic Community Organisations Network) is the regional infrastructure organisation for the Black Minority Ethnic (BME) voluntary and community sector in the North East of England. The project was established in1999 to encourage participation and develop the networks and the capacity of Black Minority Ethnic (BME) community groups and organisations in the North East region. |

Changes
CHANGES is a user-led mental health charity providing a unique recovery service to those in mental distress, based on users attending weekly mutual help groups and following CHANGES 12 step recovery programme, (developed from users own experience in recovering from mental distress). |

Gateshead Mental Health Service User Forum GMHSUFGMHSUF is unique to Gateshead in that it is entirely service-user led and service-user controlled. All decisions on policy and practice, delivery and evaluation of the service are from a service-user perspective. All members have a voice and all voices are given equal value and respect.The User Forum assists in co-ordinating user involvement and consultation around the planning and delivery of mental health services in Gateshead. |

Manic Depression Awareness North East
A self-help group offering the opportunity for people to befriend and accept each other in every mood and phase. To share difficulties, answers and hope.This is a user-led service. All Service Users are encouraged to become involved in planning and directing the service. |

Since the conception of Mental Health Matters in 1984, the organisation has grown into a national voice for individuals with mental health needs, their carers and families. Throughout this time, the original statement of intent, values and principles has evolved and been added to. The review was designed to streamline and clarify our vision and values to make it easier for service users, members and partners to understand what Mental Health Matters aims to do. |

Newcastle ClubhouseThe Clubhouse is a community of people who are working together toward a common goal, recovery. It offers a safe and supportive environment for all members. We ensure that this is free from violence, bullying, racism and sexism. The clubhouse is also free from drugs and alcohol. This is a happy and positive place and to keep it that way, we do not allow prejudice of any kind. |

Sangini
Sangini is a minority led women’s health organisation. It was set up in 2002 by a group of women who identified a gap in the area of health and looked for ways to raise awareness about it. It soon emerged that it can play a crucial role in developing a sustainable infrastructure for social cohesion through participation and education. As a multi-cultural organisation, the emphasis was also on promoting multi-cultural arts and cultural activities. This has made Sangini unique, in that it aims to reach disadvantaged and hard to reach groups in an innovative and creative way whilst providing opportunities for tackling inequalities in health. |

Established in 1984, DISC is an independent North of England based charity that focuses on deprivation and exclusion. DISC is a specialist agency, focusing on people who have fallen through the net of statutory provision and who many agencies struggle to help. |
